The vibrant hues of red, white, and blue, echoing the spirit of liberty and patriotism as we celebrate the 4th of July! What better way to honor this iconic day than with patriotic food reflecting these patriotic colors? What better way to do that than with a refreshing berry salad, bursting with flavors and colors that are naturally reminiscent of fireworks in the night sky?
When I was doing service for my church, a family I was really close with introduced me to this whipped salad. Ever since trying it then, I’ve been hooked. It’s simple, easy, and refreshing.Everything you need for a hot 4th of July cookout.
Like the title says, all you need is 4 ingredients to whip up this yummy 4th of July treat. Whipping Cream, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and berries of your choice. That’s it!
Ingredients You’ll Need
1 pint Whipping Cream
2 tbsp Powdered Sugar
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
Berries of Your Choice (I used 8 oz blackberries, 12 oz blueberries, and 16 oz strawberries)
Other Tools You’ll Need
Spoon
Instructions
In a mixing bowl, combine whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla
Using your hand mixer (I like the whisk attachment if yours has it) whip the cream mixture until it turns into a yummy whipped cream mixture. You’ll know it’s about ready when it starts to become firm and the runniness starts to go away. Beware not to whip it too long or you’ll have butter curd rather than whipped cream. This process takes about 5-10 minutes.
Wash, dry, and add your preferred berries. Save a few and top the salad for a pretty finish.
