Using essential oils to scent the air in my home was probably the first way I used essential oils. Using something like a ceramic diffuser can be helpful in your efforts to remove harmful fragrances you would find in traditional air fresheners.
What is a Ceramic Diffuser for Essential Oils?
There are two different types of ceramic essential oil diffusers, ultra sonic diffusers (electric) and clay terracotta diffusing devices (non electric).
What’s the difference?
Ultrasonic diffusers use water combined with the essential oil of choice and electricity to disperse the desired scent into a room. The evaporative qualities of an ultrasonic diffuser allow for the essential oil to reach further making this the preferred option for large spaces like a living room or office.
Ultrasonic diffusers tend to be made with the earthen material on the outside and the mechanics on the inside. Whereas something like a terracotta diffuser would be made completely from a kiln fired clay disk designed to assist essential oils to diffuse naturally.
Non ultrasonic/ nebulizing diffusers are great for small places like a car or office desk as they don’t reach as far as their electric counterparts.
What are Essential Oils?
Essential oils are basically the product of squeezing and/or steaming different natural elements, such as flowers or leaves, to produce an oil that not only smells good … .but can have other great benefits as well. Essential oils are often known for carrying a powerful scent, so you don’t usually need a lot of essential oil to get the job done when it comes to supplementing a cleaner or using it as a home fragrance. Knowing I don’t have to use a lot of a product in order to get a desired result is a nice thought, because it means you need to buy less and ultimately store less.
Benefits to Diffusing Oils
Different essential oils have been known to have varying benefits and effects. Some of the broader/ more overall benefits include:
- Toxin free air freshening
- Can help clear airways
- Cleaner smelling home
- Aromatherapy effects
Which One Is Right For Me?
This is a question only you can answer. I would suggest looking at what you are trying to accomplish and go from there to decide what ceramic essential oil diffuser makes the best sense for you.
Here are a few suggestions on ones I find beautiful and functional.
Beautiful Design:
This ultrasonic ceramic essential oil diffuser is not only functional but made to add to the beauty of the room. It’s original design and earthen material options of the ceramic terracotta or stone are sure to bring a calm to whatever room this diffuser is placed.
Terracotta Disk Diffusers:
These would be perfect used as a reusable car freshener. They would also be great on a desk to fill your workspace with sweet aroma. I could also imagine these would make sustainable gifts or even amazing stocking stuffers. I love the beautiful art used as well.
Due to terracotta’s porous properties, the essential oils are naturally held and slowly released into the immediate environment.
Budget Friendly:
If you are like I was when I first began my diffuser journey, then you probably don’t have a lot of wiggle room in your budget to spend on trying diffusers out. This would still offer a functional, yet beautiful addition to any room.
Remote Controlled:
If you are ready to level up your ceramic diffuser game, this little unit is perfect. Not only does it have remote control functionality, but guided breathing programming using soft light pulse intervals. The perfect luxurious new addition to your essential oils collection.
Personal Passive Flower Diffuser:
This pretty piece of art doubles as a natural ceramic diffuser for your favorite essential oil blend. It won’t scent a whole room, but would be great for a desk or bedside. For instance, use a citrus blend in your work space to liven up the mood. Or, add a few drops of lavender oil to this beautiful ceramic diffuser at bedtime to unwind and relax.
